Sweat + Shop
Nothing exciting going on here in Gettingnothingdoneville!
I started off the day with a good breakfast to sustain me through the shopping attempts: Chobani plain yogurt, a sprinkle of NuStevia, pineapple and Pumpkin Spice Granola…
I headed to the gym for a 25 minute stint on the elliptical, then a lower body weight workout including some hip strengthening moves . I feel like those moves are really helping out my hip. I don’t feel nearly as stiff and barely any pain after running.
I hit the stores right after the gym in all my sweaty glory. I got all the teachers’ gifts out of the way and some baking supplies for the cookie baking extravaganza this Sunday. That was about all I could handle before heading home for lunch! I’ve been keeping it simple and easy: turkey and spinach wrapped in Joseph’s Lavash bread, pear and a few roasted potato wedges…
I fit in a shower and some cleaning before picking up the daughters, then it was off to religion class. Which means me, too since I always get wrangled to volunteer!
Dinner was loved by all not. A delicious meatloaf with more roasted potatoes and a side salad…
Little daughter hyperventilated at the sight of it. I told her if she doesn’t knock it off, I will put a GIANT sign on our front door that says, “SANTA, SKIP THIS HOUSE”. Desperate times require desperate measures ;P
I’m off to organize my cookie recipes for this Sunday. It’s Cookie Day which is a tradition that my mom started. Mom, Gram, the daughters and I bake a whole slew of cookies on this day. My Dad even joins in sometimes. It’s fun and I love trying out new cookie recipes every year!
What is your favorite cookie?

Love the tradition of Cookie Day! Sounds like such a fun (and delicious) day. My favorite cookie is probably either a plain old sugar cookie or a molasses one!
coconut butterscotch. I call them ‘crack’ cookies. they’re amazing.
My absolute favorite cookie is Kolachki- a wonderful Polish filled cookie made out of a butter and cream cheese dough that is usually filled with poppy seeds, almonds, apricot or other fruit flavors. My mom is Irish and Ukranian , and her aunts used to make them for her. I was not going to make any cookies this year but my mom has Dementia and is going downhill pretty fast. I am going to make a bunch of these to bring up on Christmas in the hopes that it might help spark some kind of childhood memory and make her a little more present for a short moment. Have fun on your baking day !
Mmmm..your food today makes me hungry!! Sounds so YUMMY!!
I love pumpkin chocolate chip cookies like no other!!!
Cookie Day sounds lots of fun! My favorite cookie is a sugar cookie – so simple yet so good!
My family does the annual baking of cookies on christmas eve… we love to make chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, and fudge!! YUMMY
Santa skip this house! Love it!!!! brilliant mama!
I’m kind of a fan of chocolate chip cookies because I used to make them with my grandmother. Sweet, sweet memories!
I love the cookie day idea. My favorite cookies are the peanut blossoms-you know the peanutbutter cookie with the chocolate star in the middle. It combines two of my favorite flavors together. My daughter baked up a large batch of these last weekend and we froze half of them to enjoy later.
My favorite cookies are iced sugar cookies and oatmeal chocolate chips. I may have to make them right now. NO!! I resist Marisa!
Well, I think your dinner looks great, especially the homemade french fries!!

Your cookie day sounds like so much fun! My favorite cookies are Pignoli cookies, my mom makes them for Christmas every year. So good!
When my kids hyperventilated about what was for dinner they got another serving to enjoy – it put a stop to that pretty quickly.
Favorite cookie – white choc macadamia and shortbread.
