Jump Around

Loving this weather!  It was so sunny and mild!  A great day for the daughters to have off from school;  I knew we had to get out later and enjoy the sun:)

We had a relaxing morning with a late breakfast.  Despite the spring-like weather, I had cravings for a fall flavor – apple pie!  This was one tasty yogurt bowl.  In the mix…

  • 1 cup plain nonfat greek yogurt (TJ’s brand)
  • 1 gala apple, diced
  • 1/4 tsp. apple pie spice
  • 1/4 cup Special K granola

I warmed the spiced apples in the microwave for 1 minute before adding to the yogurt, then topped it with the granola.  Mmmm…apple pie in a bowl…

We let breakfast digest, then got dressed and headed out into the bright sunshine.  Yay, vitamin D!

While big daughter practiced some basketball, little daughter and I had some fun on the trampoline.  I haven’t been on it in such a long time.  I decided to make ‘trampoline jumping’ my workout for today.  Little daughter and I searched the internet for some workout routines for the trampoline.  I found this one and thought I would try out some of the moves…

It was such a blast!  And hard!  The whole Tuck-Daffy- Daffy thing was brutal!!

Little daughter thought I was hilarious…

Thank God the neighbors couldn’t see me ;)

So, after our 45 minute jump-a-thon, we needed some food.  I really wanted a chili-dog.  I have no idea why.  I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a chili-dog in my life, but for some reason, today was the day!  So glad I did;  it was great!

I picked up this Amy’s Black Bean Chili the other day to try…

This chili was amazing!  It will definitely be a pantry staple from now on.

I used 1/2 cup chili to top an Applegate Farms Organic Uncured Beef Hotdog on an Ezekiel Hot Dog Bun .  I sprinkled 1 oz. Cabot’s 75% reduced fat cheddar for the finishing touch.  A side of carrots was all I needed for this hearty, messy and super delicious lunch…

Later in the afternoon, the daughters and I snuggled up for a movie and some popcorn…

Then, I got to baking more Chocolate Cranberry Chia Muffin Tops since my stash was gone…

I snacked a little on a muffin top and batter (counting those BLT’s!).

Dinner was pretty basic… turkey breast with a parmesan peppercorn sauce, broccoli and mashed taters…

LOVE the trampoline! I haven’t been on one in YEARS, but i used to play on my neighbor’s all the time!

I used to LOVE trampolines ! Then I had an almost 12 lb baby , a C section and another abdominal surgery in a year. Now trampolines mean 2 bounces, make a mad dash to the bathroom, back on for another 3 bounces, mad dash to the bathroom…repeat till you get tired of running to the potty.

I find I need a sports bra when jumping on the trampoline or I end up with a black eye. Not pretty. But I do enjoy it and I think I’ll use some of those moves from the video. Looks like a fun way to burn some calories. :)

Now you have me craving a chili dog. mmmmmm

Okay, now I want a chili dog. I may never have to plan meals again. I’ll just drop by, see what you ate yesterday, and eat that!

Trampoline workout = fun!

I have never jumped on a trampoline but would LOVE to. Also, need to find that special K granola. Sounds and looks good! Great yogurt bowl idea!

How are you adjusting to counting points again?

So far so good! It felt like ‘old home week’ :) But, I’m taking your suggestion and making sure to concentrate on the Filling Foods. I was a bit fearful that I might go back to filling my day with junky POINTS, but I realized that I’ve come too far now to go back to 100 calorie packs of cookies and cakes !
