Happy Body

My body is much happier with me today :)   I’m back on track and feeling much better!

I hadn’t exercised over the weekend, so I was looking forward to getting to the gym.  Before I left,  I ate a quick breakfast of wheat bran toast and a “fried” egg…

Wow, I haven’t had a whole egg in forever!  It tasted delicious!

I grabbed my Gym Juice and was off to huff  it on the Arc Trainer.  I did 40 minutes for a nice 422 calorie burn.

Lunch was a big vegetarian fest.  I had to make up for the pepperoni!  Oops ;)

I started with a huge tofu scramble.  In the mix…

  • 1/2 block Nasoya lite firm tofu
  • 1 large roasted red pepper, chopped
  • 1 big handful baby spinach
  • 2 pieces artichoke hearts
  • 1 slice 2% cheddar cheese

I had some fridge broccoli on the side…

A fiber-packed meal…

The “snack bell” went off as soon as the daughters got home from school.  I made sure to choose something that would keep me noshing for a while.  Make –your- own microwave popcorn was the perfect choice…

IMG_4170

Dinner was a variation of Heather’s Goat Cheese and Sundried Tomato Quinoa.  I used the same method, but swapped the goat cheese for parmesan and added chopped artichoke hearts for a Mediterranean Style Quinoa….

IMG_4175

I roasted some asparagus to round out the meal.  Very good!

IMG_4173

I finished the night with a cup of my new favorite tea…

IMG_3567

It’s really smooth and not bitter at all.  In fact, I can drink it without any sweetener or milk which is usually how I have to take my tea.

I’m off to revisit my flashcards!

Total – 22 POINTS

Have a great day, everyone!

Do you drink tea?  What is your favorite brand or flavor?

What a day of wonderfully healthy eating! Everything sounds so good. I haven’t tried the Madagascar Vanilla tea yet but next time I’m ate the store I will pick some up. I love anything vanilla!

I am wanting to try the roobios tea! I keep watching for it in my market, but it has not reached it so far.

I drink coffee , but I also drink a lot of herb teas ( nettle, oatstraw and so on) but I really LOVE the taste of Tazo green tea. Just plain green tea with nothing else, and I think they have stopped carrying that variety. Something about their source was such a smooth tea !

I use drink a lot of hot tea, but I think I got burnt out when I was pregnant. I haven’t had it since I had my daughter :)

I’m kind of on a green tea kick at the moment but I really love Awake tea by Tazo…it’s a black tea that I drink when I lose my head and try to cut back on coffee.

Harney and Son’s cinnamon spice tea sold at Barnes and Noble is my absolute favorite and calling my name right now.

How funny – we have that same vanilla madagascar tea and I was saying to my hubby how much I liked it!
I also have a soft spot for Constant Comment. An oldie, but a goodie.

I LOVE David’s Tea – http://www.davidstea.com. My favourite is definitely Forever Nuts.

Wow, you certainly had some creative meat-free meals. Sounds like you are off to a great start this week.

I love so many different teas! I enjoy a cup of decaf after dinner (usually with a vitatop for dessert!) :)

Once in a while I like a real egg too. YUM! :)

The food looks fabulous! I will have to try that tea…I saw it at the store and almost bought it but didn’t. I usually drink my tea with a little sweetener and milk as well so it would be great to find a tea that I can drink without adding anything to it. Thanks!

So here’s a question for you – do you generally eat a different dinner than your family does? I know you’ve mentioned how picky your daughters are but I was wondering how you manage to make these amazing dinners for yourself if they don’t eat like food bloggers?? Just curious. :)

Funny, I did a vlog about this but I rambled on so long that it was too large to upload – LOL!

Sadly, I do make a different dinner for myself. I like to eat a variety of things, whereas they could eat the same old same old every night. And still complain, I might add…

I try to keep things easy, though and usually make dinners that aren’t very labor/time intensive. I’ll try to cut down my babbling and post up a vlog on this soon :)

Funny, I asked the same question in today’s post! :) Yes, I drink tea. I like to experiment with different teas. I drink lots of green teas. One of my oldest friends (she’d kill me if she read this!) and I sometimes go to a fancy tea shop, taste leisurely, and then buy a few special teas. So nice…

I don’t know what I want more – the broccoli or popcorn!?

The food all looks good. I am a tea drinker but I have cut way back since getting invisible braces as I am only allowed to drink water when I have them in!

My current fav’s are Stash Lemon – Ginger, PG Tips from England, Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice and Madarin Orange.

I like my tea hot and strong with a drop of milk and a splenda (I’m trying to cut down on the splenda though). Salada, Lipton or Red Rose works for me. I don’t like any flavored teas and I can’t drink ice tea (or ice coffee).
