Star-struck At FitBloggin: Part I
Hey guys! I’m back from FitBloggin and boy, what a whirlwind weekend conference it was! There was so much going on and so many people to meet and see. This newbie was overwhelmed to say the least!
I’ll apologize in advance for my lack of photos of the actual conference goings-on. I was so star-struck by the amazing bloggers that I got to meet that I kind of failed in the “take good photos of everything” department. Hey, but you know, I always get the food
Okay, let’s begin at the beginning…
Friday
I started off the morning with a favorite – Egg and Cheese on a Whole Wheat Bagel…
Do you believe I was still doing laundry this day? It’s official. I suck at packing and had to wash fifty million things so that I could bring them all in my suitcase. Then, I had to unbring 40 million so that my family could fit in the car. The husband and daughters came along for the Fitbloggin ride to hang out in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor for the weekend, so I had to have room for their stuff, too. And we sure like to bring stuff.
I finally got my act together and made a quick lunch before heading out. Another yogurt bowl using the last of the nonfat plain Chobani, blueberries and kiwi…
And we were off!
We arrived at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel around 5:30 p.m. after a minor “getting lost” incident. We checked in to a beautiful room…
with a VIEW!
I quickly changed for the cocktail reception and headed to the Harborside Foyer for registration…
At registration, I was given an awesome swag bag with amazing goodies in it…
including a new pair of New Balance running shoes! How awesome is that?!
After dropping off my swag, I sheepishly made my way to the cocktail reception sponsored by POM Wonderful. I was a little nervous since I didn’t “ know” anyone.
The room sure was bumpin’…
I sipped on a delicious POMtini…
and nibbled on the only vegetarian hors’ du0erve …lord, let this vegetarian for lent end soon… a mushroom tart…
I chatted up most of the night with Heather from Skinny Sushi. She was so fun and energetic!
Truly, we were not bombed on POMtinis in this picture. Really we were laughing at my ridiculous attempts at taking our picture. This is the best we got thanks to Heather!
I met some other great bloggers this night: Kara @ Fat Woman On The Mountain, Andrea @ WLS Vitagarten , Beth @ Melting Mama, Caitlin @ Healthy Tipping Point (I was star-struck), Carla (Miz!) @ MizFitOnline ( I was star-struck and bumbling) and the WOMAN herself, Roni @ Roni’s Weigh (amazing cannot even describe her!).
I ducked out a bit early because I was starving and had to get up uber early for the New Balance 5K run. I grabbed my computer (no free wireless – boo Marriott!) and sat in the cafe with a ‘bucks …
and a Caprese sandwich with sundried tomatoes, mozzarella and tons of greasiness, so I only hate 1/3 of it…
Before going up for the night, I chatted in the lounge with Dani of Dani Spies. LOVE her!
So as not to bombard you with it all, come back for Part II, tomorrow… I run!!!
YIKES!!
Enjoy your Sunday!
