Decisions, Decisions
Home decorating is hard work! Besides the labor, it’s so tough to make choices! I have the most difficult time with paint color.
I sipped on some press to help me decide…
Still iffy. Maybe breakfast will help…
Nothing like a good yogurt bowl to get the brain going. In the mix was 1 cup nonfat Chobani greek yogurt, 3 drops NuNaturals Liquid Vanilla Stevia, 1 diced peach, 1/2 cup blueberries and 1 tbsp. sliced almonds. I am in love with peaches right now! They are so sweet and I think the golden color won me over…
It’s decided
The husband got to work and painted out the dining room. It took him a few hours and he did such an amazing job! We cleaned up and put our new area rug in…
Now all we need are window treatments (ugh, another tough decision), a new chandelier and a few doo-hickeys for the wall. Good times!
During the makeover, easy eats were a necessity. When we broke for lunch, I wanted something quick. I rummaged through the leftovers in the fridge and came up with a Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla…
I layered a La Tortilla Factory tortilla with leftover grilled buffalo chicken, Laughing Cow Queso Fresco Chipotle and baby spinach, then pan-fried until golden. Served with a side of carrots…
I ran around all afternoon searching for draperies. I may have a winner! We’ll see tomorrow when the husband puts them up!
I was so thankful to come home to my air-conditioned home. It was hot as Hades today. The temperatures reached into the high 90’s with the heat index making it feel like 101 degrees. And it sure did!
It was way too hot for cooking, so I fixed up a big salad for dinner. Trader Joe’s helped me out with this addition to the salad…
It was surprisingly delicious! Couldn’t have made it better myself. It’s pricey for 2 pieces of chicken, but sometimes the price is worth the convenience. And it saved me some sweatin’.
- romaine lettuce
- garden cukes
- garden tomatoes
- artichoke hearts
- roasted red peppers
- red onion
- mozzarella cheese cubes
- Trader Joe’s Grilled Balsamic Vinegar and Rosemary Chicken
- evoo + vinegar
YUM!
I ended the hot night with a cool treat – Gone Nutty Frozen Banana with a teensy drizzle of honey…
Sahweet!
Have a great day, everyone!
Do you still do outdoor activities when it is really hot? It’s been so hot and humid we are like shut-ins around here! Boo!

That looks fantastic… Really nice choice. Were getting all our painting done here too. Need to do the exact room as well. Hmmm ..I really like the goldish color.. I shall show hubby…
The banana looks fabulous can’t believe I missed the original post. Will definately be making that in the future. When it is hot like this I stay locked in with a good book or movie although I could be cleaning. Boooo! I really enjoy reading your blog I am trying to get back to blogging as well.
All of your food looks amazing! I have quesadillas on the menu this week too! Love the new paint color! We’ve been stuck in the with temps over 100 in NC for the past few days. May have to hit the pool later!
Your dining room looks great!!!
I think I’ll have to make some of the Go Nutty Frozen Bananas…
It’s hot here from April to October so we have to get out and do things, I hate it though, I am from Washington and the california Heat kills me. If only my husband wasn’t so close to his family…we’d be out of here. LOL
That banana looks so good! I just bookmarked the recipe!
Love the room and love the banana ! Here when the summer months come we spend a lot of time indoors due to both guys being allergic to mosquito. It sounds crazy, but both of them get a bite and the bites swell up to the size of an orange. We have tried about a million natural insect repelents , none of them work, and have found the only thing that works to prevent is products with DEET- which is a whole other health hazard. The answer for us is a lot of indoor activities when it gets warm and humid. Mosquitoes start here about late June and keep up till the first frost. It’s a real killjoy !
Love the color of your dining room – you did a great job!
I also am a shut in when the really hot weather comes – in fact, I haven’t left the AC all day today.
I love the color you chose!
I do not still do outdoor stuff when it’s so hot. I just melt. I totally stay inside and act lazy because I hate the heat. I probably should move someplace with better summers.
I love the color and the changes you made look amazing!
Things don’t really change around here with the heat, because it’s hot 85% of the year. More events near water though
And my runs happen ALOT earlier in the AM or in the evening
It is so hot here too. We are under heat advisories right now. Yuck. I like to be able to go outside whenever I want to without having to worry about heat stroke. I think your house looks beautiful!
The dining room looks great–a huge improvement from the previous color & rug. Kudos on your food choices–I’ve been struggling with mine a bit the last few days.
LOVE the dining room as well.
when we moved and colors etc needed to be selected I left it all up to my husband and a friend.
Im the wordswoman.
sadly I BARELY notice walls, furniture, fixtures….
Good choice on the paint color, my dear! I love that coffee helped you make the decision…we are SO much alike!
