Did I Do That?

Who doesn’t love starting the day with a Breakfast Sundae

IMG_8356

Not me.

Banana soft serve mixed with 1/4 cup nonfat greek yogurt and 2 tsp. unsweetened cocoa, topped with 1 tbsp. oats, a drizzle of almond butter and a fresh cherry…

Happy, happy, joy, joy.

Today was a pajama-wearing-until-afternoon-to-squeeze-out-every-bit-of-summer-laziness-before-school-starts kinda day :)

The daughters had a friend over and I spent much of the day spraying them with the hose and setting up a makeshift waterslide in the yard.  They had a blast.  I was sweaty, sticky and hot.  My fault for wearing head to toe black pajamas in 97 degree weather.  Outside.  In the front yard for all to see.

Who does that?!

Yes, me.

I broke out of my sweaty Ninja outfit and made some lunch.  I had a hankerin’ for a hot dog…

A salty, lean Applegate Farms Organic Beef Hot Dog on an Ezekiel hot dog bun with a side of steamed broccoli.  Simple, but good.

And who says hankerin’?!

*raises hand* <—– needs to get out more.

More water fun took up the afternoon, so there was no time for a snack.  Good thing we had an early dinner planned!  My Mom invited us out for dinner at Olive Garden

This restaurant is a minefield of disasterous eating waiting to happen.  Mozzarella fondue, fried lasagna and Never-Ending Pasta Bowls.  Kill me now.

But, I resist.  And order…

IMG_8410

and indulge …

IMG_8406

just a little…

And came home to sweat it up again with the daughters doing Cardioke and Give Me 10 Core on Exercise TV.  In head to toe black pajamas.  Again.

Who wears pajamas to work out?!

Me :)

Have a great day, everyone!

What have you been hankerin’ for craving lately?

Love all of that!!! :) I also am known to wear pajamas to do workout dvds. That’s the best part about working out at home.

I love Olive Garden’s soup, salad and breadsticks. Yum! I workout in PJ’s when I’m at home, too!

Can’t remember when I last had a pajama-wearing-until-afternoon-to-squeeze-out-every-bit-of-summer-laziness-before-school-starts kinda day. How Fun! What I really want is a great big juicy burger, I haven’t had one for months and months. It just really sounds good, Am I bad?

Marisa Reply:

No, you are not bad!! Eat the burger! Check out Kelly’s post about The Best Burger today! It looks awesome! http://www.happytexans.blogspot.com

That’s why I like you so much – I can wear my pajamas working out, and turns out I do! It’s kinda funny, because I’ll just put a sports bra on and leave the jammies on – so comfy to work out like that!

Love that sundae :D

Hope the girls have a good day back at school!

I have to try that chocolate banana soft serve!

When my kids were little they loved it when we had pajama days! They thought it was the best thing ever. I did too!

I am now craving bread thanks to your pics! hehe

What a great way to start the day. I just bought some bananas so I can make banana soft serve. mmmm.

With all of the fantastic Italian food your family makes I would think Olive Garden is like McDonald’s to you. LOL Still looks great though.

Question: what are you using for your walk/run ratio? Just curios. I’m going to slowly ease my way back to this but I don’t want any hip problems.

DO make those burgers that I posted. You won’t be sorry. They really are some of the best I’ve had even though the ingredients are so simple.

Marisa Reply:

I do a 3:1 ratio right now. Run-3 min., walk- 1 min. It seems to work well for my body. I may try a longer ratio as my runs get longer, but for now, this is great!

On the weekends I wear my pajamas as long as possible, at least until lunch! Great job on not succumbing to the fatty foods at the Olive Garden!!

I just had to come back to say that I tried the chocolate banana soft serve and it is to die for! I always have fruit with yogurt with my lunch but today I was down to just apples and my teeth are too sore to eat a crunchy apple. Then I remembered seeing you chocolate banana soft serve and I had bananas already frozen. Bingo! It was so good, I can’t wait to make it again. Thanks Marisa.

YAY! So glad you liked it!

I want your breakfast sundae!!!! And I don’t want to wait for breakfast; I want it now… Sadly, there are no bananas in the house. I know I should have bought more…

What a coincidence…I had lunch at Olive Garden today and had the same thing you did. HOWEVER, after coming home I tried to determine calorie content and have gotten very frustrated. Olive Garden’s Nutrition data says that “one serving” of the salad is 350 calories (eek!!) but never gives an explanation of what one serving is. Somehow I doubt it’s the whole bowl! LOL! Any thoughts?? Depending on how many servings that bowl is supposed to be, the OG salad may be one of those minefield’s you mentioned.

Marisa Reply:

Hmmm…I’m thinking that has to include the dressing and it probably is for one serving. I asked for the dressing on the side and added it to my taste. Then, you have to account for the croutons, too which tend to add some serious calories!

Your choices are so good! You’re doing so well–you are an inspiration to me. I’ll join your club of people who say hankerin’ because I do! I work out in pajamas too. :)

Thank you, Veronica!
