Stuffed
I’ve been on a week-long celebration train: post-half marathon get together, my birthday, my Dad’s birthday and Thanksgiving! Whew. My pants are bustin’. But, I’m ending it with Thanksgiving and ready to move on to healthy eating ways!
Speaking of Thanksgiving, Mom and Gram outdid themselves this year! Every dish was so delicious! I tried to pace myself to get a taste of everything!
Ready? Let the food porn begin…
Starters…
Baked brie w/crackers , sausage empanadas w/ guacamole and salsa…
Veggie antipasto…
A commercial break…
Gram won.
The prayer…
Dad writes a prayer every year that we read together at the table…
The dinner…
First course - Fettuccine Con Funghi (pasta with wild mushrooms)…
Cannelloni stuffed with cheese in a bechamel sauce…
Main course…
Tommy…
Sausage stuffing…
Broccoli rabe…
Shredded brussel sprouts with bacon and parmesan (my only contribution! )…
Roasted sweet and gold potatoes…
Can’t forget the mashed!
Or the biscuits…
Or the wine!
*insert unbuttoning pants to let the donut top escape*
Then, we moved on to dessert!
We sang “Happy Birthday” to Dad and dug into his cake – My mom’s famous cheesecake…
And dug into way too many of these Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls that have taken over the blogosphere…
In a good way.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I truly have so much to be grateful for… a free country, family, friends and health! I’m also grateful for all of you that come to read my blog everyday and offer such amazing support for me. Thank you all!!!
Have a great day, everyone!
Are you Black Friday shopping? Online or out amongst the crazies?!

I know what you mean. I am still full from yesterday’s Thanksgiving Dinner!
Don’t worry, you’ll get back on track soon enough! I must try those dough balls!

LOL! It’s a curse, really!
I love that your Dad writes a special prayer every year for your Thanksgiving. And, I love all the veggies at your table! I made my family eat kale last year, but this year we were with hubby’s fam, and it was hard to prepare something w/ traveling.
Also, I’m so honored you picked my recipe for your Thanksgiving dessert! Thank you! That’s too cool!
We weren’t going to do any Black Friday shopping, but ended up going out on a whim around 11am and made one amazing purchase.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Marisa, it ALL LOOKS DELISH! And SKIPBO, REALLY? We love that game. I think we have it around here somewhere, haven’t played in a whole. Now I’m going to be digging through the closets.
I thought I made it through dinner pretty well….until the bowl of stuffing came around a second time. Yep, I did. Oh, and the red wine…yum. I was good with that though, full but not overstuffed.
We sat and talked around the table for a long while, and THEN THEN THEN the desserts! Why so many? Why not just one or two? Really? I lost it. I won’t even go into details. Needless to say, not eating very much today. Weigh-in tomorrow won’t be pretty.

We love SKIPBO! I always lose, but it’s fun to play! You definitely don’t want to take me to the casinos!
Wow….what a wonderful looking feast!!! Glad you had a great Thanksgiving!
Yummy!!!
[...] We spent the remainder of the afternoon in a Wii bowl-a-thon! I forgot what great exercise the Wii is, besides being fun. Plus, it kept me busy and away from the chocolate chip cookie dough balls! [...]

YUM!!!!!!!
