On The Road Again

Time to hit it!  Today I start to run!

IMG_2820

That is if I can see out of my squinting eyes.  Note to self:  stop taking pictures facing the sun. What a dork. icon_rolleyes

Fortunately, I was able to see enough to finish up 2.52 miles!  I’m way out of practice on the open road.  I haven’t had an outdoor run since DECEMBER!  I decided on a 2:1 run/walk interval with the GYMBOSS which turned out to be just right…

IMG_2827

I struggled a bit with my cadence and breathing for the first mile.  I actually started talking myself out of doing the 2 miles until I thought about how just 4 months ago I had done a half marathon!  I said to myself, “Suck it up, you big baby!” and finished the 2.5 miles.  Glad I did;  feels good to be back on the road again!

Time for breakfast!

Pan-fried whole egg with 2% cheese on a sandwich thin (6 PP)…

IMG_2819

I spent a few minutes in the kitchen whipping up more Three Cheese Souffles.  I omitted the ham and added fresh broccoli and roasted red pepper for these…

These really are so versatile and easy to make thanks to the food processor!

I had one for lunch along with a salad dressed with olive oil, vinegar and parmesan (9 PP)…

Instead of eating an afternoon snack (and possibly eating and eating and eating), I thought maybe drinking would be better.

Okay, I’m not THAT fun ;)   No afternoon party, just a Green Monster (1 PP)…

IMG_2836

  • 1 frozen banana
  • handful baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze
  • vodka
  • Kidding!

That held me over pretty well.  I was tempted to hit up the pantry a couple of times out of habit (I thought a habit took 21 days to form, not 3!!), but I stayed strong.  The saying “Suck it up, you big baby!” came to mind again :)

For dinner I was craving a big bowl of veggies.  Tofu scramble is my favorite way to eat leftover veggies in the fridge …

IMG_2841

  • 1/2 block Nasoya Lite Firm Tofu, crumbled
  • broccoli rabe
  • diced roasted potatoes
  • carrots
  • baby spinach
  • 1 oz. cotija cheese

A delicious 9 PP…

The end …

Have a great day, everyone!

What’s one habit that you would like to break?

Congrats on your first outdoor run since December! Don’t get discouraged! You’ll get back into the swing of things soon! :-)

Good job! Hmmmm, a green smoothie? And St. Patty’s Day right around the corner!

I thought of making a smoothie this week, even threw a couple half bananas in the freezer. Better do it quick before the fruit is gone!

What bad habit would I like to give up? Eating? No, just kidding. I would say it’s either my afternoon “must have” cup of coffee (or two), or the new “have to taste the buttercream” habit.

I felt the same way last night on the ARC trainer. It is SO much harder than my usual exercise bike even though I do work really hard at that, and I kept thinking I will stop at a half mile, and I finally said suck it up you big baby! Just keep going and see how much you can do in thirty minutes. It was only 1.25 miles but the longest I’ve ever done it. I kept reminding myself of your tshirt. Just do it, every damn day!

This makes me despise the rain outside even more!! I don’t belong to a gym so I have to rely on the exercises I can do in my house for now. I definitely can’t wait for it to be nice and warm outside so I can start running again. Good job!! =)

Those soufles look amazing! Love that you just took out the meat and added flavorful veggies – SMART! And great job on the run!

Well done Marisa for getting out and running again :-) I haven’t done anything all week (or last week!) It’s Spring Break here so I’m taking the week off ;-) Hopefully will get back to doing something next week.

Oh how I miss my food processor (now broken) :( Those souffles look so yummy.
Good run.

Prior fat girl is looking for a way to use her mini peppers that she doesn’t like. I think I’m going to send her over here. *checking the comments to see if she was here*

You are inspiring with your run! Great job Marisa!

Good job!

I really want to quit grazing while I cook. It’s a horrible horrible habit that i’ve only struggled with for the last few years. I never did it when I was fat, when I was losing, or even the first 2 years after goal. Not sure why I do it or why I can’t stop :-(

Good job getting back out there. It really is amazing how quickly the endurance disappears. 4 weeks got me back to starting over.

Those souffles look amazing. Gotta get those little dishes and try those.

Congrats on the run! Great job getting outside – you’ll be back into the swing of it in no time.

On the road again!! That’s great!
Habit-biting my nails and eating after dinner. Ugh!

Sun pictures – if you face the sun, you squint. If the sun is behind you, you end up all black shadow like the grim reaper. No win situation LOL!

I have some snack habit that pops of from time to time. I wish I could figure out why it is there sometimes and not others.

even if a liquid snack is filling, i always still want to chew! then i just end up doing both :)

I should probably kick my nightly wine habit, but I am finally counting points for it!! Hee hee!

Great job on your run!! Doesn’t it feel great to be outside again. This has been one long winter. I am hoping that the change of season also brings about some changes in my eating.

I would like to break the habit of only journaling breakfast & lunch!! Shame shame!!

Kudos on the run…I bet it felt good to finish! :)
