Me and Piper
I walked into my WW meeting this morning and said to the receptionist…
Me: “Hi, is your name Piper? I’m here to pay.”
Receptionist: blink…blink… blank stare…pissy frown
I had to explain that I haven’t been to a meeting in almost 3 weeks and my weigh-in will show it. Get it… pay the piper???
Why does no one get my jokes?
blink…blink…pissy frown
So, I handed over the big dollars to piper and got on the scale. Exactly as I expected, back to the beginning. Well, not the beginning beginning. Just this January 2011 beginning. But, I’m not upset because I’m back to doing what I should be.
I find that whatever weird things my body is dealing with right now isn’t so concerning if I know I’m following the plan. The scale may not always show that I’m on track, but as long as I *KNOW* that I am, I will feel good about it. That’s all I can do. Do your best and leave the rest
<—– What is up with my Johnnie Cochran-ish sayings lately?! blink…blink…blank stare
Anyhow, Piper (aka the receptionist) did show me some love at the weigh-in. Since I told her I am refocusing and looking at this as a “fresh start”, she said that she will make today my first day. She put blank stickers over my previous weigh-ins from January, February and the beginning of March and restarted by book with today’s weigh-in…
How cool is that?! I very much dislike focusing on the past. For me, it tends to bring me down and conjure up a lot of negative self talk. It’s much better to acknowledge, then move forward. Since there is no “rewind” button in life (or “fast forward”!), I have to take it as it is and keep moving on!
I had a great week with food and exercise this past week! Here’s to many more ! *raises glass of water*…. Cheers!
Have a great day, everyone!
Did you play any good April Fool’s jokes on anyone?

Oooh, sounds like you have a good one planned
I liked the joke.
Half the time I have to explain jokes to my husband. He does a little laugh after that, but they definitly lose their humor if they have to be explained.

Yep, that’s me, Angela. Always explaining. Apparently only I find myself to be funny
Lol at your joke
Good for you for going to the WW weigh-in! Happy April. Good luck with your goals

Thank you, Grace!
See – if I were that receptionist, I would have laughed my ass off LOL!
Marisa, if you want an accountability partner, please let me know. I am going to do a focus on weight loss this month.

I would love an accountability partner, Lori! Email me!
HA! Love your sense of humor. I’m with Lori! Let’s keep each other accountable.
I mentioned you today on my blog. Just about your pretzel bagels that are killing me lately. LOL
Have a great weekend, sweetie.

Yes, let’s definitely check in with each other, Kelly! Email me, too!!!
Hey, don’t sweat the bagels… you are eating some yummy food that’s making you feel good and that’s all that matters!
Nothing worse than when someone doesn’t get the joke…let me guess – she was young, right?

She was actually a little older than me! I think it’s the lack of calories that causes one to lose their sense of humor! LOL!
At least she made up for it by blanking out your past WI’s

I loved her for that idea. Pissy frown or not
That’s great, very symbolic – covering over the past weeks. Because they’re gone. Said and done. Never give up! NEVA!!!! (I think we need some t-shirts made up!)

Yes!!!! NEVA!!!!!
haha…I LOVE this. I have been having an internal struggle with myself about when the program changed, how they made it more about the money than about weight loss…I mean, don’t get me wrong, I get it, its a business…but as I was using my piece of crap calculator the other day to calculate points, and it was working only when I pressed the buttons just the right way, I was wondering how long it was going to work before I needed to spend more money to replace it…..humph. Of course, I am no where near goal so free meetings isn’t anywhere in my future. But enough of that….on to a new day, a new start….cheers to you as well…as I raise my water cleverly disguised in a wine glass! lol

Yeah, I will admit the calculator is not the best quality nor is it exactly user friendly. Hopefully, they will figure out a better tool for the new PP system. Try not to get too caught up in the business aspect though, Renee. Just look at WW as a tool to help you and use it in a way that’s best for you. For example, I like paying for the meetings because it’s a place of accountability and comraderie. I don’t put too much stock into a particular leader to motivate me. I tend to learn more from the experiences shared from the members. I don’t buy any of the products for sale or any new items they may try to push because they aren’t necessarily in keeping with the way that I want to eat ( too much processed stuff!). That’s the business side of the program I don’t “buy” into
Marisa! That’s wonderful that you took that scary step back to a meeting. I’m proud. You can do it. I like what you say about maybe the scale not showing what you want as long as you know you are on track. Great attitude
