Talkin’ Turkey
Hi everyone! Thanks for giving your thoughts on the Green Monster Debate. I have to admit, it’s the one part of being a Weight Watchers member that I don’t like. I think that getting caught up in each and every little Points nuance is a recipe for disaster, at least for me! It steers me away from being in tune with my body and starts to mess with my mind!
Since I do post the Points value of my meals, I feel responsible to make sure that I’m as accurate as possible so as to not guide anyone in the wrong direction! Therefore, please know that I will continue to count my green smoothie as 1 PP, but use your own discretion in counting for yourself!

Guess what? It’s weight lifting day! I can’t believe how much I am looking forward to this now. Today was a home workout with dumbells in the dusty old basement…
| BODY PART | EXERCISE | WEIGHT/REPS/SETS |
| Legs | Squats | 30#/ 12/ 2 |
| Chest | Incline Flyes | 10#/ 12/ 2 |
| Back | Incline Dumbell Rows | 8#/ 12/ 2 |
| Biceps | Hammer Curls | 10#/ 12/ 2 |
| Triceps | Single Arm Kickbacks | 10#/ 12/ 2 |
| Shoulders | Dumbell Presses | 8#/ 12/ 2 |
| Abs | Crunches Bicycles |
0#/ 20/ 2 0#/ 20/ 2 |
I am soooooore! And I love it! I had to reduce the weight of the shoulder presses because my arms were screaming at that point. Also, I’m not sure I’ll do the Incline Dumbell Rows again. They are awkward and I didn’t feel that I was doing them quite right!
After my workout, it was time to fuel. I’m on a bacon and egg kick lately – egg, turkey bacon and Ezekiel toast (5 PP)…
and the last of Lori’s coffee! It was so good! Thanks again, Lori!
Lunch was from the freezer stash – Tami’s Cheesy Quinoa Burgers (6 PP)…
Along with the last of my Light Slaw with Cranberries and Honey (1 PP)…
Lunch didn’t hold me over very long. I was hungry about an hour and a half later!
I broke out the Green (1 PP)…
Later in the afternoon, I grabbed a snack to-go while driving little daughter to dance class (1 PP)…
I had turkey burgers on the brain for dinner. Probably due to the recent recalls!
I made my own, just to be safe! I was craving Greek flavors and came up with these burgers to answer the call…
Greek Turkey Burgers
- 1.25 lbs ground turkey breast
- 1 clove garlic , minced
- 2/3 cup reduced-fat feta cheese crumbled
- 6 kalamata olives
- 3 tbsp. sun-dried tomatoes, without oil
- 2 tbsp. finely diced red onion
- 2 tbsp. nonfat plain Greek yogurt
- 3 tbsp. English cucumber, peeled, seeded and grated
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
Place ingredients in a large bowl…
Mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
Form into 6 burgers (about 4 oz. each)…
Grill for 3-4 minutes per side…
Each burger is 4 PointsPlus!
Turkey burgers made with only turkey breast are notoriously dry and bland, however, the additon of sun-dried tomatoes, olives and feta give these burgers a very distinct, delicious flavor. To combat dryness, I added the yogurt and grated cucumber…
The flavor was undetectable and it worked like a charm! The result was a juicy, flavorful turkey burger!
I served it on a multi-grain sandwich thin with fresh spinach and a dollop of tzatziki sauce (7 PP)…
Along with a tomato and cucumber salad (1 PP)…
I ended the night with some chocolate love – Peanut Butter Chocolate Lava Cake …
Every night should end like that
Have a great day, everyone!
What is your all-time favorite dessert?

Girl, those turkey burgers look delicious. Need you in my kitchen! Seriously, the idea of adding the yogurt and the grated cucumber, really didn’t affect the taste? I’ll be making my own turkey sausage soon and looking for ways to add moisture without fat.
My all time favorite dessert? Pound cake with buttercream frosting, I think. Or my mother-in-law’s banana pudding!
Those turkey burgers look SOOOO GOOD!!! I’m not normally a fan, but I love anything that involves tzatziki sauce.
My all time favorite dessert has to be store bought birthday cake/cupcakes, with pecan pie as a close second.
Wow- everything looks SO good, especially that dessert! I love my sweets!
do I have to choose just one? I LOVE ice cream, but I also LOVE cheesecake. If I had to pick one to have for the rest of my life, it would probably be cheesecake.
All-time? Hm. Probably creme brulee, but that’s subjec to change!
I’m not too picky when it comes to dessert. Lately I’ve been craving carrot cake and I do believe I’ll have to cave and make one this weekend!!
Love the turkey burgers! Favorite dessert brownie sundaes, I never have them but could eat them until I explode
!
haha they ARE awkward – any time I have to straddle the bench I feel stoopy.
Those turkey burgers look fantastic!! FAvorite dessert? Cream cheese brownies!!
YAY for lifting!!! that’s it, you’ve inspired me to start back lifting next week! We’re going to be some chicks with guns.
Oh my, i think I gained 5 pounds just looking at that cake. Yummm. And the turkey burgers look great too. Love those grill marks. (yes, I do have a thing for grill marks)
Great looking food and that cake looks pretty tempting.
I don’t have one favorite for dessert, my mood changes almost as much as the weather! Love chocolate and berries and lemony kind of things! Not much I don’t like I guess-could that be why I have weight issues?
Must try the quinoa cakes. Too many recipes and so little time!
I can’t decide on a favorite dessert. Maybe chocolate bread pudding, or buttercream frosted cupcakes, strawberry rhubarb pie. uh oh…
OK…I officially want a burger now!!!! Damn Marisa, those look SOOO good! Opa! My favorite dessert? Maybe a big gooey piece of carrot cake. It’s been a LONG time since I’ve had that!!!
LOL those pictures are hysterical.
I always crave something sweet in the evening. I usually end up eating a piece of fruit or having a piece of whatever sweet treat I have baked. My favorite dessert is definitely anything involving chocolate and peanut butter. I see Peanut Butter Chocolate Lava cake in my near future!
Those burgers look AMAZING!
…and I’m so with you on the WW point thing. I love WW, but find myself getting caught up on every little point that I stop listening to my body. Good to know I’m not alone!
With regards to dessert – oh boy… ice cream is usually a favorite, but that PB Chocolate Lava cake is calling my name!
Your turkey burger mix ins look good. I’m going to try being a little more creative next time I make some…thanks for the inspiration!
My favorite dessert? Frozen yogurt, of course!
Your dinner sounds perfect to me. I would love a turkey burger right now! And that cake is delicious.
My favorite dessert is probably a caramel slice. It’s something I’ve fallen in love with since moving to NZ. I just loooove them!
oooh those burgers look GREAT!
it’s a grilling weekend here in texas, too.
xo
I’m drooling over your turkey burger!!! YUMMM!!
I think that dessert looks amazing!!! I have such a sweet tooth so it’s hard to pick just one dessert I love the most. Chocolate cake, canolies, goat cheese cheesecake… the list goes on
.
Um, pretty sure your dessert is insulin worthy!!!
Turkey, i like Turkey! Glad i stopped by, awesome food pics for sure. I get my best workouts in my basement myself. I can crank the tunes, act as insane as I want and just go beast on the weights.
