Cookie City
HELP!!!! I’m buried under a mountain of cookies! Cookie Day was in full swing once again this past weekend and I’m still recovering! After 16 hours of mixing…
Scooping …
Sprinkling ( or spronkling, as Gram calls it! LOL!)…
Rolling …
And dipping …
I am finally ….
DONE!
I have tasted so many cookies that I am in need of a serious detox! I vowed to regroup today. I had a heart-to-heart with myself where I told myself that cookies are not something to be eaten everyday…with every meal…and/or in place of a meal… just because they are staring you in the face. I needed to set a goal for myself (notice I didn’t say “rule”
): No more cookies until Friday’s Christmas party. So far, so good. My body welcomed the nourishing food I gave it today. I sure felt a heck of a lot better, too!
Now, guess who offered (during a sugar-induced stupor) to BAKE cupcakes for little daughter’s school party on Thursday? *raises hand* ![]()
HELP!!
Have a great day, everyone!
What is your favorite holiday cookie to bake?

yes!! Yes!! NOOOOOOO!!
OH Don’t I know this one, each day I swear I have been asked to make something else for something else, and how do you know if they turned out unless you taste them. I am so back on the wagon after Sunday! Will be back to blogging too.

I’m with ya, Kathleen!
I had decided not to bake this year and Mr. Helen was so disappointed I am going to try to make a batch of something on Christmas Eve. My favorite cookie is our rolled sugar cookie that we frost and decorate.

Aw, you should definitely make some for Mr. Helen! My husband saw me packing up the cookies to give to neighbors and got scared he might not have any! LOL!
I totally hear you! My husband brought some cookies home from work that someone baked and I had about 4 or 5 in place of my lunch yesterday.
What is the name of the cookies with the white glaze and sprinkles? I think these are what we refer to lemon cookies, my grandmother always made this for christmas and those are my fav!

Ugh, I know, Tina! I had cookies for breakfast the other day. Ick. Then I wanted to go straight back to bed; I felt terrible!
Anyway, the cookies we make are called Ricotta Cookies. Here’s a link to the recipe: http://www.loserforlife.com/2010/12/cookie-love/
I love to bake, but this year has been especially busy – and we are hosting the big dinner on Saturday! We do have the recipes out to make 3 kinds of cookies. Luckily John loves to bake as well, so it cuts down the time it takes to make these. I did devour enough fudge to feed a small army when John made it for shipping out to his family, though, so good thing we *hadn’t* done cookies yet or I would never get off my bike trainer LOL!
I’ll come down and help you quality test some of those cookies Marisa!! Happy to help!
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
I don’t love to bake cookies- I much prefer bar type treats like pecan bars! This year I also made my much loved Gourmet style Caramel Peanut Chocolate Dipped Apples!
All that sugar tastes good going down but later it really feels bad! Been there and done that.
uh wow?
that’s all this little jewish lady has gots
Incredible Marisa! They look delicious. Carlos and I made Gingerbread cookies in all different holiday shapes. They were not the prettiest cookies but they tasted great. Notice I say tasted…they are gone already!
Cookies have been everywhere for me lately! I am glad I have not given in, but the Chex Mix?? That’s another story!
Goodness, I do not have the patience for that much cookie baking…but I do have the patience for cookie eating
I think I mentioned this to you last year but I make pizzelle’s! LOVE THEM!
