About
Welcome to Loser for Life!
My name is Marisa and I originally began this blog in November 2008 as Trim The Fat on Blogger. I had been on the Weight Watchers program for over a year and lost quite a bit of weight. People began asking me what I was doing to lose the weight, what I was eating and how I exercised, so I decided to start Trim The Fat in answer to those questions, as well as, a way to keep myself accountable during my weight loss journey. It’s been a great ride and I have been able to lose 67 pounds (to date!) in the process.
However, after much soul-searching, I decided to change my focus from a “dieting mentality” to a more intuitive eating approach. I realized that if I was to maintain my weight loss for the long term, I would need to do it without constantly measuring, counting and weighing. I’ve been happy with the decision! It’s been, and still is, a learning process. I’m learning to reconnect with my body and understand how it works. My issues with food and emotional eating are other areas that I’m learning to deal with. I am, in fact, a work in progress! And working on this has been worth every minute. I want to be a “weight loss success story”. I want to have lost the weight and kept it off. I want to be a …Loser for Life!
*Edit: After spending a year focusing on the intuitive eating process and learning ways to deal with emotional eating, I finally felt healthy enough “mentally” to be able to continue on with my journey toward reaching goal weight. My program of choice… Weight Watchers, of course! As of January 2011, I restarted Weight Watchers new PointsPlus program and plan on using it, along with all the wonderful experience I gained during the past year, to get to goal!
