Just Great
Glad to see that you guys are with me on tracking and having a GREAT on-program week! Now that the warmer weather is here (requiring less clothes – EEK!), I feel extra motivated to stay focused with my food and exercise. Hope my body cooperates with the effort!
Speaking of body cooperating… I took my measurements today. It’s been 6 weeks since I began my weight lifting program. I’ve been consistently doing weights for 3 days a week and was hoping to see something happening!
Survey says… I got nothin’. Well, that’s not entirely true. I actually GAINED a half inch on both my arms! YIKES! On a positive note, I feel the muscle definition forming under the blub.
I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong, or I just need to get some more weight off before the inches start to go. I do enjoy the weight lifting workouts, so I’ll keep at it until I see progress or bust out of my clothes.
However, I decided to change it up a little today and bring back an old pain in the butt friend …
I was prepared for a major butt-kicking, but guess what? I didn’t die!! I remember when I first tried The Shred a couple of years ago, I almost had to call 911. Today, the workout was definitely a challenge, but I was able to keep up! An NSV (non-scale victory) for sure!
Okay, enough blubbing blabbing, let’s talk food…
Breakfast continues with my Ezekiel english muffin obsession this week. Toasted and topped with Laughing Cow along with non-burned turkey bacon (7 PP)…
Lunch was a little bit of Italy – Prosciutto, Mozzarella and fresh basil on a ciabatta roll (9PP)…
Altogether with bbq chips and carrots (3 PP) …
Dinner’s main event was courtesy of the freezer. I knew it was some kind of chicken, but I didn’t have it labeled, so no idea what the PP value was! Mystery chicken was served with mushrooms, sauteed zucchini and a 1/2 cup of pasta (est. 11 PP) …
I’m off to little daughter’s chorus concert then to bed!
Have a great day, everyone!
Can you sing? Without people cringing?
Me = N.O. But, I do it anyway

A Special Tea
Welcome back from the weekend! Hope you all had a lovely one! Mine was filled with lots of activity. I spent Saturday backstagemommin’ at little daughter’s dance recital which could very well classify as its own form of a workout. Running stairs, yanking costumes on an off, whipping hair into buns and shuffling 10 girls back and forth to the bathroom equals sweating, huffing and puffing! It’s all fun though.
Sunday started off with an enthusiastic dragging me kicking and screaming run on the treadmill. I trotted along, finishing up 3.1 miles using 2:1 intervals with the GYMBOSS. I’m definitely feeling my endurance come back now that I’ve been keeping a regular running schedule again!
Breakfast was an Ezekiel McMuffin – egg and 2% cheese on an Ezekiel english muffin (7 PP) …
I love this breakfast! Savory and filling!
After I de-stinkified myself, I headed to a family bridal shower. The theme was an “afternoon tea” and given by the bridesmaids. It was lovely!
The tables were set with an array of tea cups, tea pots and colorful flowers…
The bride-to-be with her Mom and sister …
The personalized tea bags were such a nice touch …
There was a huge assortment of tea sandwiches, homemade individual quiches, cheese, crackers and fruit. I had a little of everything and doubled up on the fruit (est. 12 PP) …
The bride was asked to play a Question and Answer Game. She was asked a question, gave her answer and then got to see her fiance’s answer to the same question that was pre-recorded and played on the big screen …
It was so adorable!! Kind of like a modern day “Newlywed Game”!
Desserts were just as plentiful. I dodged these delicious guys …
But, did indulge in one of these homemade cookies (2 PP) …
Kudos to the bridesmaids (and you, too, Kate!) for putting on a beautiful shower!
After some long goodbyes ( I call it “The 20 Minute Italian Goodbye
) and ride home, I was ready for dinner. Heat and eat was looking good! Trader Joe’s Madras Lentils on a bed of much needed veg (6 PP) …
With a doughy side of naan bread (5 PP) …
So, I didn’t get to weigh-in or my WW meeting on Friday since I had too much going on. My “unofficial” weigh-in looked like I stayed the same. No biggie though; I’m ready for an awesome week of tracking, exercise and staying on program! Who’s with me????!!!
Have a great day, everyone!
Are you a tea drinker? What is your favorite kind? I’m not a huge fan of hot tea, but I love iced tea! I brought the bride a box of Celestial Seasoning True Blueberry to make my Blueberry Iced Tea !

FitBlogginless
Hi Everyone!!! Anyone feeling sad they’re not at Fitbloggin?
I couldn’t go this year, but I sure had a blast last year! It was the first blogging conference I had ever been to and it was so fun to meet/see bloggers that I had been following for years! You can check out my recaps from last year to revisit my conference awkwardness:
Star-struck at Fitbloggin: Part I
Fitbloggin: Part 2
So, even though we’re not schmoozin’ at Fitbloggin, we can still have some good eating fun, right? Right!
The day started off with a dreary-on-the-treadmill 2.5 mile run using 2:1 intervals. I seem to be stuck on this interval set, but I like it for now…
Breakfast was an egg sammie. I was out of my beloved Ezekiel english muffins, so I used the Ezekiel bread instead…
Egg, Ezekiel bread and 2% cheddar for 7 PP.
For lunch, I also seem to be stuck on Grilled Chicken with Caprese Salad (8 PP)…
It’s that good! I’m going to try it with shrimp next. YUM!
Afternoon nosh – a fancy fruit bowl of banana, plum, pear and orange …
Dinner was a big roasted chicken dinner – chick chick with gravy…
Served with roasted baby potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and salad (12 PP) …
I have another crazy weekend on tap with dance recitals and bridal showers! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you on Monday!
If you haven’t already, don’t forget to enter the Subway Giveaway!
Have a great day, everyone!!
Are you nervous when going to an event where you don’t know anyone? Are you a wallflower or a mingler? When I went to Fitbloggin last year, I didn’t know a SOUL, other than the people’s blogs that I had read for years! I knew them, but they didn’t know me! LOL! I was so nervous and bumbled my way through most of it, but I tried to mingle as best I could. I’m really more of an awkward wallflower in those situations!
